BLIND DATE

Last October 30, 2018 (Tuesday), James Mackay Foundation held the 5th Blind Date “Dinner in The Dark” at The City Club Alphaland in Makati City, in partner– ship with the Rotary Club of Makati Das– mariñas. All proceeds raised was used to purchase urgent needs of the Philippine National School for the Blind: One Dux– bury BLR Trans Software, Perkins Brailler and a Victor Reader Stream.

The JMF team and the Rotary Club of Makati Dasmarinas added a nice twist during the event. Before the blind date proper started, everyone was gathered to the cocktail area which is at the opposite side of the oor.

Everyone socialized and got to know the cause of the event but little did they know, they were brought to the ballroom for the “Dinner in the Dark” in blindfolds which added more suspense to the guests.

Once they were settled Miss Grace, one of the scholars of the Foundation in the Philippine National School for the Blind, has serenaded the crowd with her an– gelic voice. She sang heartfelt songs that would truly melt your heart. During the dinner, PNSB gave each participant a card that says “thank you” with braille translation.

All in all, the event was warm and heart– felt. It’s very moving to see everyone having the same goal of being grateful and content to all the blessings God has given and at the same time sharing those blessings to the people in need.

The Blind Date was a huge success in raising awareness and knowledge about our visually impaired brothers and sis– ters. It has strongly touched the hearts of many.
