The James Mackay foundation also see the importance in providing livelihood programs to sustain Filipino families lives. As a shareholder of MacKay Green Energy Inc., a renewable energy company, the foundation supports our fellow Filipinos by providing sustainable employment in different levels from semi-skilled to skilled jobs. PWDs are very much welcome to work with us as one of MGE’s mission is promoting the employability of PWDs.
Only 2 out of 10 farmers can sustain their family
In addition, MLA corporation and JMF will be setting up its own Malunggay farm to produce its product called Manna Plus, this will help create sustainable jobs for our local farmers, offering them better trading conditions by planting Malunggay. Manna Plus is multivitamins which is 100% Filipino made. It will help improve the health of Filipino children and from every purchase of this product a part of it will go to the foundation in other to support our hard working farmers.
This year the theme is “Dare to Act”, one of is, act on achieving the goal of creating an environment accessible to people with disability. The livelihood center will be upgraded to a training center in compliance with DEPED, a place where students with disabilities will have the same privilege and opportunity we have to prepare and hone their skills and talents. This is to enable them to have a job within their comfort and at the same time earn a stable income. The Training center would contain training rooms for language and communication development.
